Videoconference from your desktop with Saginet's new CMA

Saginet now has a new Converged Management Application (CMA) which allows for desktop videoconferencing and chatting. Saginet Desktop VC will connect with any other Saginet resource on the network, like distance learning rooms and mobile carts, for example. Saginet Desktop VC is able to share computer content while in a call so powerpoints, websites, word documents and more could be shared with others to enhance a presentation.

Who can take advantage of CMA?

All staff who are Saginet members.

What do I need to get going?

All that is needed is a webcam and the software. Click here to download the software and intallation procedures. Once given the software to download, you'll need a username and password. You can get all of this by sending an email to


  1. Make sure your audio setting on your computer is set to Soundmax. If not, set it to Soundmax and restart CMA
  2. CMA does not work well if you have viruses or malware. Please check for both using your protection software.
  3. Look for other programs that use audio and video and disable during CMA experience.
  4. If you have the option of using a wired network and a wireless network, please choose a wired network.
  5. Many audio problems are caused by not using your headset that was included with the Hercules camera. Please use this at all times.
  6. Make sure that you've followed all of the directions on the installation document link. 

How do I make a call? After you have established your CMA software and Webcam on your computer, you will be able to make a call. With the CMA desktop software running on your computer, click the "My Contacts" tab, located just underneath your picture. In the "Search Text" field, enter the first name of the person you would like to call or the school name for a mobile cart. Select the party you'd like to connect with and click "call". 

To receive calls, simply answer the call when prompted on your screen. 

You can send content and use Picture in Picture when you are in the call. See tabs on the top of your videoconference window. 

Finally, if you'd like to test your CMA out and you don't have someone to call, either call me or use 777777 in the open field at the bottom of your CMA Desktop window ( just underneath where it says chat or call.)
