Our Superintendent’s Office and Board members were honored to attend the NAACP Saginaw Branch’s 54th Freedom Fund event last night. Inspired by the theme “The Fierce Urgency of Now,” we also celebrated our newest team member, Kimberly Pruitt, as a Young Professional Award recipient!

What an energizing few days with our partners at the Saginaw County Health Dept. and BWell: kicking off with a tour of Jerome Preschool, connecting at the farmer’s market, and wrapping up with Dr. Senkowski and Dr. Collier crossing the finish line at the BWell 5K for Wellness!

In support of the partnership between Saginaw ISD and BWell Saginaw, Superintendent Collier and Mrs. Collier channeled the spirit of the Saginaw Zoo river otters 🦦 and ran the BWell 5K race for wellness (Shout out to the designers of the sweet logo featuring a river otter and the beautiful silo art murals)! 🏃🏾♀️🏃🏻♂️ #OurStory

How does the Michigan Lottery really impact schools? Some funding does go to K-12 public education, but it’s not as much as many people think. For every $1 spent on the lottery, only about 26¢ goes toward schools, and in the bigger picture, lottery dollars make up just 5% of Michigan’s $23 billion school budget.
