Joshua Hook Joins Saginaw ISD

Joshua Hook will be joining Saginaw Intermediate School District (SISD) as the new Assistant Director of Instructional Services on March 18, 2021. Mr. Hook will assist in providing servant leadership, direction, and facilitated collaboration of instructional services to SISD and school districts throughout Saginaw County. As Assistant Director of Instructional Services, Mr. Hook will develop and facilitate innovative strategies that include: Providing professional learning opportunities for educators, K-12 curriculum and instruction enrichment, implementation of best practices in pedagogical curriculum designs, promotion of instructional technology integration, advocacy for legislative education initiatives, and delivery of best-in-class instructional services to support school improvement.

Mr. Hook began his professional education career as a school psychologist for Midland Public Schools in 2010. He joined Meridian Public Schools in 2011 where he facilitated several professional leadership roles including School Psychologist, Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Coordinator, Director of State and Federal Programs, and Principal of Meridian Elementary School. In 2019, Mr. Hook received the Regional Honors award from the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association (MEMSPA). Last year, he authored a “COVID-19 Guidance Document for Principals” that was shared by MEMSPA with leaders across the State of Michigan.

Mr. Hook received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University. He also holds a certificate in K-12 School Administration. Further, Mr. Hook is a two-time alumnus of the MEMSPA Leadership Matters program; participating in cohort 8 in 2017 and again with cohort 10 in 2019.
