The "heart" of the Hartley experience is staying on the premises overnight. Through Hartley's overnight residential program, teachers, students, and counselors explore the outdoors, tour historical landmarks, participate in interactive lessons, engage in hands-on crafts and activities, eat at the Moosehead Cafe, shop at The Trading Post, visit the Net Zero greenhouse and so much more! With over 300 acres of natural habitat, Hartley offers a unique outdoor setting for children to explore the beauty of Michigan's wildlife and natural resources outdoors through hands-on learning! The Hartley experience builds self-esteem; instills awareness, respect, and wise use of Michigan's natural resources through environmental education; reinforces classroom instruction; and expands appreciation for past cultures.
