ELIGIBILITY
For the 2021-2022 school year, children must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2021. Provisions exist for students who will turn 4 years of age after September 2nd, but on or before December 1st.
To enroll, the child must:
Be four-years-old by September 1st (but not 5).
Be a resident of Saginaw County.
Must meet eligibility criteria.
What families qualify:
Single-parent and military families
Working families
Homeless families
Children who might have special needs
Families who have a child receiving free/reduced lunch
At least one of the following criteria must be met:
Family income is at or below 250% of the federal poverty guideline
The child has a diagnosed disability or identified developmental delay with an IEP that designates placement in an inclusive classroom
The child has a severe or challenging behavior
Primary home language is other than English
Parent/guardian has low educational attainment
Abuse/neglect of child or parent
Environmental risk available

Income and household size are verified by a Federal Income Tax Form (1040). Information is based on the 2019-2020 federal poverty guidelines.
