MTSS AND MICIP
Saginaw ISD's Instructional Services Department has a dedicated team of specialists focused on Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Michigan Integrated Continuous Improvement Process (MICIP). MTSS is a framework that helps educators provide academic and behavioral strategies for students with various needs. MICIP is a pathway for districts to improve student outcomes by assessing whole child needs to develop plans and coordinate funding.
Every school district in Saginaw County has a District Improvement Team (DIT) that is led by a DIT Coordinator. The Saginaw ISD MTSS Coach supports both the teams and the DIT Coordinator in the area of MTSS & MICIP. The supports provided under MTSS and MICIP umbrella include the following:
Continuous Improvement Protocols and Procedures
District Capacity Assessment administration and action planning
Systems Understanding and Development
Tier I Instructional Best-Practice Coaching
