Saginaw Intermediate School District (ISD) wishes to congratulate our Director of Finance, Tammy Cavendish, for recently completing her Chief Financial Officer (CFO) certification through the Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO). The MSBO Voluntary Certification Program, established in 1998, is a prestigious avenue for professional development among school business officials. Completing this certification program serves as a beacon of excellence, celebrating the dedication and expertise of professionals in the field. Deputy Superintendent Scott Sawyer shares, "We are proud of Tammy for completing the CFO certification program through MSBO. Her dedication and commitment to enhancing her skills in school business operations are commendable. This accomplishment not only marks a significant milestone in her career but also reinforces our commitment at Saginaw ISD to excellence in educational leadership and financial management." ABOUT TAMMY CAVENDISH

Tammy Cavendish joined Saginaw ISD in January 2020 as an accomplished Director of Business Operations with a strong background in the financial services industry. With expertise in coaching, operational excellence, analytics, onboarding, and budget management, Tammy was initially hired as the Finance Specialist. Within just over a year, her exceptional leadership qualities propelled her to the position of Business Manager. She continued to excel and ultimately earned the role of Director of Finance.

Tammy Cavendish holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Saginaw Valley State University and recently completed her Master's in Business Administration from Georgia Southwestern State University. She is pursuing a Chief Financial Officer certificate from Michigan School Business Officials, which she anticipates completing in October of this year.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Tammy Cavendish cherishes quality time with her family. She and her husband, Paige, have been happily married for nearly 18 years and are blessed with two children, Kassidy (12) and Kennedy (10). The Cavendish family's shared passion lies in camping and embracing a tranquil retreat from the fast-paced demands of everyday life. They prioritize escaping to their seasonal at Lake of Dreams in Merrill, Michigan, as frequently as possible.

ABOUT SAGINAW INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT

Saginaw Intermediate School District (ISD) is an educational service agency that provides effective and innovative leadership, services, resources, and programs throughout Saginaw County. Saginaw ISD provides career and technical education, early childhood, finance, human resources, instruction, pupil accounting, special education, technology, and transportation services. In addition, Saginaw ISD operates multiple educational programs to meet the unique needs of students ages birth to 26 across Saginaw County, including: Hartley Outdoor Education Center, Head Start/Early Head Start and Great Start to Readiness Programs, Great Lakes Bay Early College, Saginaw County Juvenile Detention Center School, and Special Education Center Programs.

Saginaw ISD serves 12 local school districts, five public school academies, and 22 non-public schools, with a total enrollment of approximately 26,000 students. Public school districts supported include: Birch Run Area Schools, Bridgeport-Spaulding Community School District, Carrollton Public Schools, Chesaning Union Schools, Frankenmuth School District, Freeland Community School District, Hemlock Public School District, Merrill Community Schools, Saginaw Public School District, Saginaw Township Community Schools, St. Charles Community Schools, and Swan Valley School District.
