As part of its continued commitment to high-quality early childhood education, Saginaw Intermediate School District (ISD) is proud to announce the appointment of three new principals to lead its preschool campuses beginning in the 2025–2026 school year. This enhancement of leadership structure introduces site-based principals who will oversee both the educational experience and day-to-day operations of their buildings, bringing a more streamlined, structured, and student-centered approach to early learning.
Saginaw ISD’s Early Childhood Services reach more than 2,000 students and families across Saginaw County each year through programs such as Early Head Start, Head Start, Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), and PreK for All. These services provide inclusive, high-quality learning environments for children ages birth to five, alongside comprehensive family supports.
Stephanie Eickholt, Tia Hahn, and Corey Nichols have each been selected to serve in these inaugural principal roles, bringing deep expertise and a shared passion for supporting students, families, and educators in transformative ways.
Stephanie Eickholt will serve in a dual role as Preschool Education Administrator and Principal of Brucker Preschool. She brings over two decades of early childhood experience and a steadfast belief in the power of connection. “I am excited to lead our staff, families, and students into a new school year grounded in connection, collaboration, and care—where strong relationships and inclusive, welcoming learning environments empower every child to thrive,” said Eickholt.
Tia Hahn will lead Claytor Preschool, drawing from 25 years of experience in both public and higher education. Her dedication to literacy and community engagement has been a hallmark of her career. “I am especially excited for this opportunity to reconnect with the staff, families, children, and greater community of Saginaw County, where my passion for education and community engagement will continue to grow,” said Hahn.
Corey Nichols will take the helm at the newly renovated Jerome Preschool, which opens this fall and features a unique Green STEM overlay curriculum. “As a father and educator, I believe every child deserves a place where they feel safe, inspired, and excited to learn,” said Nichols. “The world our children grow up in is changing fast, and our job is to equip them with the tools to think, adapt, and thrive in whatever comes next.”
Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Collier praised the transition, noting its alignment with Saginaw ISD’s long-term vision. “Establishing building-level leadership in our preschool programs is a bold and necessary step forward for our district,” said Dr. Collier. “These new principals are more than instructional leaders, they are visionaries who will help cultivate strong foundations for our youngest learners. We look forward to the creativity, care, and leadership Ms. Eickholt, Ms. Hahn, and Mr. Nichols will bring to our schools and to our broader educational community.”
This leadership change marks a milestone in Saginaw ISD’s mission to serve, innovate, and empower. With preschool sites now led by dedicated principals, families can expect a more cohesive experience that supports both academic growth and social-emotional development, starting from a child’s very first steps into school.
