Saginaw Intermediate School District is proud to welcome Kimberly Pruitt as our new Communications & Marketing Coordinator, a role dedicated to advancing the district’s mission to serve, innovate, and empower through creative storytelling, strategic communication, and authentic community engagement.
In this position, Pruitt will support the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies designed to elevate Saginaw ISD’s visibility and strengthen its connection with the students, families, and communities we serve. She will support the district’s Our Story™ initiative, empowering staff and students to share meaningful narratives that celebrate student achievement, highlight innovative programs, and showcase the transformative work happening across Saginaw County.
A critical part of her work will focus on promoting Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and increasing public awareness around the countywide CTE millage. Working in collaboration with Saginaw Public Schools and the Saginaw Career Complex (SCC), Pruitt will help develop storytelling campaigns, produce dynamic video content, and craft impactful messaging that spotlights the powerful opportunities available through CTE, preparing students for high-demand careers and strengthening the workforce pipeline across our region.
“Building meaningful connections with our community begins with the stories we share,” said Coty Kuschinsky, Chief of Staff and Communications Director. “Kimberly’s experience, creativity, and passion for storytelling will help us grow our team’s capacity and deepen how we communicate the impact of public education across Saginaw County.”
As part of the district’s continued commitment to strategic communication and organizational alignment, Coty Kuschinsky was promoted to Communications Director in addition to her ongoing role as Chief of Staff. In this expanded capacity, she will continue to lead Saginaw ISD’s comprehensive communications strategy while helping guide the work of the Superintendent’s Office and the implementation of the district’s newly adopted Strategic Compass. Pruitt’s role will complement and expand this work, ensuring that the district’s storytelling, branding, and outreach efforts remain innovative, impactful, and closely aligned with strategic priorities.
A Saginaw native, Pruitt brings a wealth of creative and professional experience to her new role. Her career began in New York City’s film industry, where she contributed to projects such as Spike Lee’s Netflix series She’s Gotta Have It and his one-man stage show Rodney King, and documented the 50th Independence celebration of Barbados featuring Prince Harry and Rihanna. After returning to Michigan, she directed an award-winning Type 1 Diabetes awareness campaign for Morley Companies and launched TriValley Stories, her own production company dedicated to helping organizations shape authentic narratives.
“I’m honored to step into this role with Saginaw ISD,” Pruitt shared. “Communication is all about connection, and I’m excited to help share the stories, successes, and mission of our district with the community we serve.”
With her passion for storytelling and commitment to building authentic connections, Pruitt is poised to help Saginaw ISD elevate the way it celebrates student success, engages families, and communicates the life-changing opportunities available through public education, now and in the future.
