The Saginaw Intermediate School District (ISD) is proud to announce Joshua Miller as the new Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE), following approval by the Saginaw ISD Board of Education. With over 22 years of experience serving students and families across Saginaw County, Mr. Miller brings a deep commitment to student success, community partnerships, and relationship-driven leadership.
Mr. Miller most recently served as the Wellness and Nutrition Education Program Supervisor at Saginaw ISD, where he led regional initiatives focused on student wellness, nutrition education, and healthy living. In his former role, he worked directly with thousands of students, educators, families, and community partners, building strong connections and expanding access to programs that support the whole child.
“Throughout his career, Mr. Miller has demonstrated what it truly means to serve students and families across the Great Lakes Bay Region,” said Dr. Jeffrey Collier, Superintendent of Saginaw ISD. “He is a natural relationship builder who understands the power of partnerships, community trust, and student-centered leadership that are essential to the mission of CTE in Saginaw County.”
Mr. Miller began his career in education in 2002 at Francis Reh Academy, where he laid the foundation for his teaching career. In 2009, he transitioned to Buena Vista High School, serving in a leadership role as Athletic Director. After four years, he joined Saginaw ISD, working with county teachers on curriculum implementation and data collection for the Michigan Model for Health Curriculum. In 2013, he helped launch the Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds Program, delivering nutrition education to students across Saginaw, Bay, Arenac, and Iosco counties. In 2022, he was named Wellness and Nutrition Education Program Supervisor.
Mr. Miller holds a Bachelor of Education degree from Saginaw Valley State University and teaching certifications in K–12 Physical Health Education and Sociology. He is currently pursuing his Master of Education degree from Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU).
“I am incredibly honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Director of Career and Technical Education for Saginaw ISD,” said Mr. Miller. “Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside incredible educators, families, and community partners, and most importantly, thousands of students across our county. CTE represents the future for so many of our young people, and I am excited to continue building strong relationships that open doors, expand possibilities, and help students discover their purpose and potential.”
In his new role, Mr. Miller will oversee CTE programming that provides high school students across Saginaw County with hands-on, real-world learning experiences, preparing them for college, careers, and lifelong success. Serving as the county’s Career Education Planning District (CEPD) administrator, he will lead regional coordination of CTE programs, strengthen partnerships with industry and postsecondary institutions, and expand high-quality career pathways aligned with workforce needs in Saginaw County.
The Saginaw ISD community congratulates Joshua Miller on his new role and looks forward to the continued growth, innovation, and impact of Career and Technical Education under his leadership.
