Saginaw Intermediate School District (ISD) proudly announces the selection of Felipe Monasi as its new Executive Director of Finance, effective March 23, 2026. Following a comprehensive search process that included multiple rounds of interviews and stakeholder engagement, Mr. Monasi emerged as the top candidate. His selection reflects Saginaw ISD’s commitment to strong fiscal leadership and its continued ability to attract high-caliber talent to serve students, staff, and communities across the Great Lakes Bay Region.
For Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Collier, the selection reflects Saginaw ISD’s continued commitment to strong financial stewardship, strategic visioning, and long-term forecasting. “Felipe Monasi stood out in a highly competitive search because of his ability to connect financial strategy to organizational impact,” said Dr. Collier. “He understands that strong financial systems are the foundation for delivering high-quality services to our students, families, and local districts. His commitment to transparency, accountability, and data-informed decision-making, coupled with his extensive national work experience, will help ensure we continue to lead forward with both purpose and responsibility.”
Saginaw ISD provides comprehensive financial services and support to local districts, public school academies, and non-public schools across Saginaw County, managing a budget of more than $120 million annually. The Finance Department supports 17 districts through pupil accounting services, provides accounts payable services for two districts, and delivers accounting software support to 13 districts across the region. In addition, Saginaw ISD manages payroll services for eight districts, serves as the fiscal agent for two county-wide millages, and oversees nearly $20 million in grant and flow-through funding that directly supports local education agencies (LEAs) and public school academies (PSAs).
As public education continues to navigate evolving funding structures, the Executive Director of Finance plays a critical role in ensuring financial transparency, effective resource allocation, and long-term organizational sustainability, aligned with Saginaw ISD’s mission to serve, innovate, and empower.
Mr. Monasi brings a diverse background in finance leadership across corporate, nonprofit, and public-sector environments. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Finance for a private holding company with an international presence, where he led enterprise-wide financial strategy, operations, and compliance across a complex, multi-entity organization. “I am thrilled to step into this opportunity to serve as Saginaw ISD’s next Executive Director of Finance,” said Mr. Monasi. “I feel honored to bring my experience in financial leadership to support the students and families of Saginaw County. Through strong partnerships and a commitment to fiscal stewardship, I look forward to helping ensure the district continues to operate with transparency, accountability, and long-term sustainability.”
As Executive Director of Finance, Mr. Monasi will oversee the district’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and financial reporting, while supporting strategic decision-making and resource alignment across all departments.
