Saginaw Intermediate School District (ISD) is proud to celebrate Human Resources Manager Jamie McGough, who was named the Outstanding Human Resources Support Staff of the Year by the Michigan Association of School Personnel Administrators (MASPA) during its annual conference on April 16 in East Lansing.
The recognition came as a surprise to Ms. McGough, who was honored in front of more than 150 of her peers from across the state, as well as her family. The moment was made even more meaningful as Executive Director of Human Resources Andrea Wise shared remarks highlighting McGough’s impact on both people and systems throughout Saginaw ISD.
The Michigan Association of School Personnel Administrators is a statewide organization dedicated to supporting and advancing human resources professionals in education through professional development, collaboration, and advocacy. The Outstanding Support Staff of the Year award recognizes individuals who demonstrate excellence in leadership, innovation, and service within their organizations and the broader education community.
With more than 26 years of service in the field, Ms. McGough has played a key role in strengthening Saginaw ISD’s human resources systems while keeping a clear focus on the employee experience. Her work has helped ensure that processes are not only effective but also supportive of the people they serve.
“I am incredibly honored to receive this recognition from MASPA,” said Ms. McGough. “To be surrounded by so many talented professionals in this field, and to be recognized among them, is truly meaningful. I’m grateful to be part of a team at Saginaw ISD that prioritizes people, collaboration, and continuous improvement.”
Andrea Wise, Executive Director of Human Resources at Saginaw ISD, reflected on Ms. McGough’s impact on both people and the organization, “Jamie is instrumental in building and refining the systems that support our entire organization,” said Ms. Wise. “What sets her apart is her ability to never lose sight of the employee experience while doing that work. She leads with intention, solves problems proactively, and consistently ensures that our processes reflect the level of care and professionalism we expect for our staff.”
Ms. McGough’s recognition reflects not only her individual contributions but also Saginaw ISD’s continued commitment to fostering a strong, supportive workplace culture aligned with its mission to serve, innovate, and empower.
