Saginaw Intermediate School District (ISD) is proud to announce the launch of The Connection magazine, a new initiative designed to expand the organization’s communications strategy and better connect with staff through a print-and-keep format delivered directly to employees’ homes.
Published quarterly, The Connection magazine focuses on supporting employee wellness and engagement by helping staff better understand their health benefits and highlighting practical, everyday resources. Each issue will feature wellness articles, local opportunities to stay active, healthy recipes curated by Saginaw ISD’s Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds team, staff highlights through the nationally recognized Orange Spot Recognition program, stories that celebrate meaningful community partnerships, and health care benefits information.
This new publication aligns with Saginaw ISD’s Strategic Compass, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to enhancing the employee experience while fostering a culture of transparency, support, and continuous improvement. “This is about continuing to meet our staff where they are through intentional, accessible, and responsive communication,” said Dr. Jeffrey Collier, Superintendent of Saginaw ISD. “The Connection reflects our commitment to serving and empowering our employees beyond the workplace. When our staff feels informed, supported, and valued, it positively impacts our culture and strengthens everything we do for students and the communities we serve.”
The magazine is being developed in partnership with Chicago-based Community Health Magazine Group, whose expertise in health-focused publications has helped shape a resource that is both informative and engaging. “Our goal is to make complex information, especially around benefits, clear, approachable, and actionable for our staff,” said Andrea Wise. “This magazine allows us to connect the dots between employee wellness, professional support, and overall organizational success in a way that’s easy to engage with and revisit throughout the year.”
Saginaw ISD extends its appreciation to the Community Health Magazine Group team for their partnership and guidance in bringing The Connection to life. The district also recognizes the contributions of its internal Editorial Board, including Dr. Jeffrey Collier, Dr. Erin Senkowski, Coty Kuschinsky, Andrea Wise, and Kayla Coughlin.
With its first issue set to arrive in staff mailboxes, The Connection establishes a new, consistent approach to delivering information and resources that support staff across the organization as Saginaw ISD continues to serve, innovate, and empower.
