Saginaw Intermediate School District (ISD) proudly announces that Earl Casto has been selected to serve as its new Director of Facilities. Casto officially began serving in the role on June 15, and his employment was approved by the Saginaw ISD Board of Education on June 22.
Following a comprehensive search process that attracted a strong pool of highly qualified candidates, Casto emerged as the top candidate. His selection reflects Saginaw ISD's continued commitment to investing in experienced leaders who create safe, welcoming, and well-maintained learning environments for students, staff, and visitors across the Great Lakes Bay Region.
For Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Collier, Casto's extensive background in facilities management and operational leadership made him the ideal candidate to lead the district's growing facilities initiatives.
"Earl brings an impressive breadth of experience managing complex facilities across multiple industries, along with a leadership style rooted in service and continuous improvement," said Dr. Collier. "Our learning environments play an essential role in student success and employee engagement, and Earl understands that exceptional facilities do not happen by accident. His vision, expertise, and commitment to excellence will help ensure our campuses continue to meet the evolving needs of those we serve."
Saginaw ISD's Facilities Department oversees the maintenance, custodial, operations, and long-term planning of the district's campuses and educational facilities. From preventative maintenance and capital improvements to safety, security, and daily building operations, the department plays a vital role in creating environments where students can learn, educators can teach, and staff can thrive.
As Saginaw ISD continues implementing its Strategic Compass, Casto will play an important role in advancing Goal #5: Forecast Evolving Needs and Assess Long-Term Sustainability by helping ensure the district's facilities continue to support safe, equitable, modern, and efficient learning environments for years to come.
Casto brings 25 years of facilities management experience across manufacturing, higher education, healthcare, and multifamily organizations. Throughout his career, he has led facilities teams responsible for maintaining complex operations while building cultures centered on service, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
