Saginaw Intermediate School District would like to congratulate Christine Bolen on her new position as Director of Instructional Services. Ms. Bolen joins Saginaw ISD from Tawas Area Schools and has more than 26 years of experience in education. While in Tawas, Mrs. Bolen was a coach, teacher, and administrator. "Christine is an energetic leader who has shared her excitement to support all learners in the county. Ms. Bolen brings a wealth of leadership and service with her, which makes Saginaw ISD lucky to have her," said Executive Director of Instructional Services Victor Bugni. 

Christine Bolen Biography

Christine Bolen is the Director of Instructional Services for Saginaw Intermediate School District. Before Saginaw ISD, she worked in various roles within the Michigan education system for more than 26 years. During her time in the classroom, Christine was able to use her knowledge of science and technology to develop many innovative programs for students and staff. In her new role, Ms. Bolen continues to express her passion for learning and advocating for students.

Ms. Bolen holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology, with an emphasis in Human Genetics, from Michigan State University. She eventually went on to take courses to start her career in education at Saginaw Valley State University before receiving a Master of Arts in Educational Technology at Michigan State University. Christine also attended classes focusing on Administration through Grand Valley State University. Ms. Bolen is an active member of the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association (MEMSPA) and recently completed “Leadership Matters” as part of Cohort 12.

Christine and her husband, Bruce, enjoy spending time with their growing family, which includes two new grandsons and friends. They always look forward to daily walks with their labradoodle (Joey). Chris also enjoys outdoor activities and quilting.

Instructional Services Information

The Saginaw ISD Instructional Services Department provides a number of services and supports in the areas of literacy, STEM, Whole Child, and multi-tiered systems of instructional support work. The primary focus of Instructional Services is professional learning. The department is also involved in regional and statewide committees and legislative advocacy. The purpose of the department is to create consistent countywide and collaborative networks for improvement.
