The Abundant Life Health Team did a nutrition presentation for the parents at the Murphy Farm Head Start Parent Club. We talked about how important good nutrition is for childhood development and to form good health for the future. We also showed how to get plenty of protein from plant foods by providing samples of gluten-free protein oat waffles with strawberry-mango sauce, tofu egg salad, and a protein green smoothie! #SaginawISD

Our Early Childhood Department enjoyed a training day with staff focusing on Health and Wellness! Our keynote speaker - back by popular demand - was Dr. Mamie Thorns, Chief Diversity Officer of SVSU. Her training focused on Recognizing and Overcoming Unconscious Bias in the Workplace. #SaginawISD





Come celebrate literacy at our Winter Wonderland event on January 25th at Claytor Preschool, 3200 Perkins Street starting at 4:00 p.m. There will be pictures, free books, music, cupcakes and cookies! #EarlyChildhood


Kindergartners at Merrill Park are benefitting from alternative seating provided by a grant from the Saginaw Foundation: Academic Enhancement Grant, submitted by Gretchen Federico and Kelli Schiebner, kindergarten teachers; Marcella Mosqueda, principal; and Emily Garlinghouse, SLP. #OurStory


Students at Merrill Park, their amazing teacher, and Speech and Language Pathologist Emily Garlinghouse spent some time this fall learning to make applesauce, taking about apple vocabulary, and doing a taste-testing science experiment on three different apple types while charting data to examine our favorites! #SaginawISD





Officer Diem from the St. Charles Police Dept. visited our Murphy Farm Preschool this week! We talked about car seats, gun safety, 911, and she even showed us the tools she uses with her job! #SaginawISD
