A huge #orange shout-out to Kris Walko and Wendy Malkiewicz for providing amazing support to licensed home-based childcare teachers and caregivers. Monthly, these two Quality Improvement Coaches and the Great Start to Quality Eastern Resource Center team facilitate a professional learning community and then continue that support through coaching opportunities. In addition, they put on a fantastic conference last week in which home-based educators from across the state joined in for an evening of learning and networking. Thanks for all you do to support our youngest learners! #SaginawISD

The Great Start to Quality Eastern Resource Center team was busy Thursday night hosting our 5th annual Home-Based Mini-Conference that supports teachers and caregivers who care for children in their homes. Early Childhood teachers from across the state were able to learn more about Family-Teacher Relationships, Nutrition, and Advocacy. Some of our team members also attended the Early Childhood Expo in Grand Blanc, with both events giving us opportunities to build relationships and learn together! #GreatStart

The Abundant Life Health Team did a nutrition presentation for the parents at the Murphy Farm Head Start Parent Club. We talked about how important good nutrition is for childhood development and to form good health for the future. We also showed how to get plenty of protein from plant foods by providing samples of gluten-free protein oat waffles with strawberry-mango sauce, tofu egg salad, and a protein green smoothie! #SaginawISD
