Students at the Saginaw County Juvenile Detention Center School have begun work on their annual garden project.

They start their plants from seed, care for them daily, take scientific measurements, and study photosynthesis. As the weather warms, the plants will be transferred to outdoor gardens. Once the produce is ready, students will work with staff to incorporate it into the lunch menu.

Stay tuned for updates on the garden’s progress! Thank you to the dedicated educators who provide students with this meaningful, hands-on learning experience.

Stacy Darrow from Instructional Services would like to recognize the amazing students in Ms. Spendlove’s kindergarten class at Thomas White! Last week, they created adorable turkey name crafts, with each feather showing a letter in their name. These kindergartners have been working incredibly hard on learning their letters and sounds, and their effort and enthusiasm are truly something to be thankful for! #GoBearCats

This two-day event offers educators opportunities to learn about the latest research and best practices in MTSS, strengthen implementation in their own contexts, and connect with colleagues from across the state.

The Merrill team delivered a presentation titled “A Road Map to the Merrill Miracle: How Systematizing MTSS Drove Us to Success.” They presented to a packed room and shared their powerful journey of building a systematic MTSS framework and using data-based decision-making to improve outcomes for all students. #SaginawISD
