Yesterday was an awesome day with Saginaw County educators at the Reaching and Engaging All Learners training at Millett Learning Center. PD was put on by staff from special education and instructional services together. #SaginawISD #LeadTogether

Educators from across Saginaw County gathered for a productive day at the "Reach and Engage All Learners" professional development session. These sessions were a joint effort by SISD Instructional Services, Special Education, and Autism Spectrum Disorder Teacher Consultants. Great teamwork! #OurStory

Instructional Services prepared literacy kits to support reading and math with the Saginaw County students residing at local homeless shelters. Book choices were made to offer "windows and mirrors" for students in their reading experiences. #SaginawISD #OurStory

#StrongerTogether Saginaw ISD staff from Early Childhood, Special Education, and Instructional Services all collaborated to design updated guidance on the Read-by-Grade 3 Law. #ServeInnovateEmpower

#ANNOUNCMENT Saginaw ISD is excited to announce that we have just participated in initial meetings with the 2023-24 recipients of the State Personnel Development Grant (SPDG). From all of the applications submitted for the opportunity, three districts from Saginaw County will be a part of this amazing work – Francis Reh Academy, Saginaw Preparatory Academy, and Merrill Community Schools. The Michigan Department of Education, in partnership with the Michigan Multi-Tiered System of Supports Technical Assistance Center, awarded the federally-funded MTSS grant opportunity. The focus of this opportunity is to implement an integrated literacy and social, emotional, and behavioral framework in the elementary grades. The State Personnel Development Grant was intentionally written to complement Michigan’s State Systemic Improvement Plan (SSIP). The SSIP is a comprehensive plan to scale up an evidence-based practice to improve student results. The SPDG will provide local teams with oversight professional learning, collect data, and implementation support which are consistent with what is in our state’s SSIP. Congratulations to all three districts. Saginaw ISD is thrilled to be a partner with you as you enter this work. #SaginawISD

Thank you, Tom Lietz @PrincipalLietz and Bob Kefgen @BobKefgen from MASSP, for bringing State changes in Educator Evaluation to SISD. Saginaw administrators and HR directors found this presentation very helpful in informing their work. #SaginawISD
