R1SE is a local organization offering tutoring, mentoring, academic training, social education, and recreation opportunities right here in the Great Lakes Bay Region — helping students soar both in and out of the classroom while supporting hardworking parents.

Students from Ms. Williams’ classroom at Jerome spent the day exploring the campus greenhouse and checking on their commercial hydroponics unit. They were excited to observe the impressive growth of their bok choy and bell peppers, which were planted just a few weeks ago.

Over the next two weeks, students will have the opportunity to harvest their bok choy and enjoy it as a fresh, healthy snack with friends.

Experiences like this highlight the power of hands-on learning and help students make real-world connections through science, teamwork, and curiosity.
