Saginaw County's newest CTE program, Hospitality, and Tourism Management, has been learning firsthand from leaders in the Frankenmuth community. Martha Zehnder Kaczynski, Vice President of Bavarian Inn Lodge, shares her expertise on the cultural differences of guests and how positive guest interactions are the foundation of a solid business. Students practiced these skills by welcoming and interacting with guests at the Covenant Retirees Luncheon. Eric Fielbrandt, owner of Frankenmuth FunShips, shared how attraction management is a year-round responsibility. Students hopped aboard a FunShip, covering marketing to maintenance. Students then created their own event for the FunShips! Exciting CTE learning opportunities happen thanks to wonderful business partnerships like these!

What a special evening as Saginaw Career Complex inducted high-performing students into the National Technical Honor Society! Criteria included a high grade point average at home high school plus a minimum of a 3.85 GPA at SCC, a personal recommendation, and an interview. Kudos to Amanda Koch and Josh Fabera, chapter advisors, and to Breanne Grocholski for helping to organize the event. Special thanks to Patrick Curry for being our featured speaker, sharing wisdom and advice for success! Also, thank you to the instructors who made it out to the event tonight to support their students. Congratulations to all students! You are amazing! #SaginawCountyCTE
