CTE isn’t just for high schoolers—middle schoolers in Saginaw County can get involved too! At Merrill High School, Industrial Tech teacher Mr. Josh Beougher is sparking interest in skilled trades with his incredible Middle School Welding Program for 7th and 8th graders. This hands-on experience introduces students to the world of welding, helping them build skills, confidence, and a passion for the trade. By starting early, students gain real-world experience in a safe classroom environment, setting them on a path to becoming expert welders by the time they graduate! #careerpreparation #careertraining

“In a world dominated by emails, texts, and instant messages, there’s something uniquely meaningful about a handwritten note. Over the past few days, I’ve been fortunate to receive a few from colleagues—expressing gratitude for professional development sessions I’ve led and acknowledging the work I’ve been doing. These notes, one from a superintendent, one from a department, and one from a paraprofessional, all hold equal significance, serving as a powerful reminder that a simple, thoughtful gesture can leave a lasting impact. I’m truly grateful for the kind words and even more grateful for the incredible people I have the privilege of working with at Saginaw Intermediate School District.” - Mark Lyons, Instructional Technology & STEM Integration Program Director
