Carrollton students successfully built fires and boiled water during Hatchet Survival class at Hartley this week. The class is based on the book “Hatchet” by Gary Paulsen, which the kids had read before coming to Hartley. Good work!

YCAN had a great day helping and working at HOYT Park and the
Children’ s Zoo!

SOAR students are enjoying their worksite at Leaman's Green Applebarn! Yesterday they sorted through almost 1 ton of apples! We appreciate our partnership with them.

It's Infant Safe Sleep Awareness Month! Make sure baby is on their back, on a non-inclined sleep surface, with no other people on a firm mattress. Space should be w/out pillows, blankets or toys. Use a sleep sack, wearable blanket or footed sleeper to keep baby warm. #SaginawISD

Mr. Roose led the second group of Carrollton 5th graders into the Robert Gage coal mine museum. The students learned about the coal industry in Saginaw County as well as the challenges the miners faced.

When the STEM director gets to help plan PD with the instructional coaches it's all smiles and exciting ideas. Love the collaboration between departments!

So awesome to have consecutively hosted Dr. Ruby Payne (ahaprocess) and Dr. Horacio Sanchez (ResiliencyInc) to present to our #SaginawISD educators for countywide PD and discuss Frameworks of Emotional Poverty ('21) and Brain science to promote student resiliency ('22).

Mrs. Tabacsko's Culinary Creations class is back at it! Today was one of their biggest orders and the students rocked it!

Did you know… Millet operates 3 classrooms at Zilwaukee Elementary?! These classrooms aim to increase student interaction (inclusion) with their typically developing peers. Here, a Millet student in Ms. O’Toole’s class won a school wide award for his perfect attendance. His name was announced and he headed down to the office, with his peers, to claim his prize! #MilletMustangs #SaginawISD #inclusionworks

Good morning! #SaginawISD is out at the Saginaw Chamber of Commerce Percolator Breakfast handing out signs and literature for the upcoming Special Education Millage!
