Frederick the Frog, unofficially named, refills his ticket basket for school store goodies. Millet teachers, and frogs, love to pass out tickets to hard working students who show safe, respectful, and responsible.


Speech Therapist Emily Garlinghouse and Occupational Therapist Kate Kawiecki presented to Saginaw ISD preschool teachers on Reaching and Engaging All Learners. The presentation provided universal supports for the classrooms.





Amy Winslow's student, Jordan, really shines during his art lessons. After spring break, Millet Learning Center has one more art lesson with guest teacher Elise. We have many great projects to choose from for our Art Fair! 🖼️



Special Education Supervisor and Assistive Technology Coordinator Jessica Bluhm had the opportunity to meet and listen to the inspirational Jordyn Zimmerman at the annual MACUL conference. Jordyn is a fierce advocate for students and adults with complex communication needs. She fights for everyone's right to communicate and a chance to tell their story by providing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). #AACRocks #SaginawISD #OurStory




⭐️ Student Spotlight!! ⭐️ Transitions Center SOAR students Steven and Isaiah just got jobs!! Steven is working custodial at the State building and Isaiah will be working the Covenant Summer project as an intern! Great job Gentleman!!


Amy Kohnert's class at Millet Learning Center had a blast organizing March Madness. We were so honored to have Dr. Collier come and read the winning book, Harold the Iceberg Melts Down. Ms. Shamia Chandler says, "It is always a joy to be blessed with such gracious energy. Thank you, Dr. Collier!"



Our Millet Learning Center Library transforms into the Mustang Market on Thursdays and Fridays. Students have an opportunity to cash in their hard earned tickets for being safe, respectful, and responsible. Amy Kohnert models real life situations by shopping with a "credit card" with her class. There are many great items to buy from snacks and drinks to bracelets and stickers.





The Great Start Collaborative would like to thank the Kiwanis Club of Saginaw for holding a special baby shower at their Kiwanis meeting today. Kiwanians generously donated new baby items for the GSC's upcoming Community Baby Shower on April 26th. The Kiwanis Club of Saginaw continues to be a wonderful partner and supporter of the GSC!
