Speech Pathologist Summer Broekhof is trying out a "buddy device" in peer-to-peer today! Kids learn best from each other. What better way to encourage communication and inclusion than with a peer model?! Thanks Jessica Bluhm, Assistive Technology Coordinator, for the awesome suggestion! #SaginawISD

A classroom setting with three young children and a teacher engaging in an educational activity. The children are seated at a wooden table, working on worksheets with images, glue sticks, and tablets. One child in the foreground is using a tablet with a communication app. The teacher, wearing glasses, a brown jacket, and a graphic t-shirt, is standing and assisting the children. The classroom has wooden cabinets, a couch, and exercise balls stored on top of a cabinet in the background. The environment suggests a special education or inclusive learning setting.

Youth Ambassadors - For a Day or a Lifetime, Cohort 4, spent their day yesterday exploring the world of public safety, gaining firsthand insight into the vital roles that keep our community safe. The day kicked off at the Saginaw County Jail, where Undersheriff Gomez provided an inside look at law enforcement operations. Next, the group headed to the Saginaw County Courthouse, meeting with Judge Fichtner, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Blair Stevenson, and Assistant Public Defender Emilie Lyday to discuss the justice system in action. From there, the team suited up for a visit to Saginaw Fire Department Station 1, witnessing the dedication and rapid response of our local firefighters. The day wrapped up with an eye-opening session with the Mobile Medical Response Team, showcasing the lifesaving efforts of emergency medical personnel. Thank you to all of our hosts and coaches for making this day an unforgettable day for the ambassadors! #youthambassadors #ourctestory #ourstory
