Earlier this week, Julie Bash, Great Start to Quality Program Director, Joani Liesen, Family Child Care Network (FCCN) Specialist, and Bill Daniels co-owner of Healthy Beginnings Child Care had the amazing opportunity to connect with other FCCN hubs and networks from across the state, the Early Childhood Investment Corporation, and Mi-LEAP. The day was filled with inspiration from the powerful stories of home-based child care business owners whose businesses have been positively impacted by FCCNs, to rich learnings with the Erikson Institute on FCCN research and evaluation. Together, we celebrated the progress of Michigan’s FCCN initiative and explored the opportunities ahead. #FCCNStrongerTogether #FCCNSmallBusinessBigImpact

Looking back on the kickoff to June, when educators from across Michigan gathered at the Outside of The Classroom conference, hosted at the beautiful Hartley Outdoor Education Center. The day started with an inspiring keynote from Alexis Dahl, who reminded us of the magic that lives in curiosity and wonder. From there, featured speakers took learning outside—literally—leading sessions that focused on connection over content, collaboration over curriculum. It was a day of fresh air, fresh ideas, and a powerful reminder that some of the best professional growth happens beyond four walls.
