The Schmidt’s who were up from Virginia for a wedding stopped by Hartley to donate some coal mine photos and artifacts. These included a lunchbox, boot dryers, and a number of tools from grandpa George W. Chivers who worked in the No. 8 coal mine on the present site of Hartley.
