Last Friday, we proudly celebrated the Class of 2025 at Millet Learning Center with a heartfelt Completion and Transition Ceremony, surrounded by friends, families, and staff who have worked alongside these students for years, some for multiple decades.
Our completion students: Jennifer Banning, Tomas Cruz Jr., Collin Rodammer, James Scott, and Taylor Strain, have reached a meaningful milestone as they complete their time at Millet. We also took time to honor the memory of Blake Miller, a beloved student whose spirit continues to shine in our community.
We also celebrate our transitioning students: Shamarria Franklin, MiAngel Vasquez, and Dalvon Woods, as they take the next step in their journey by moving on to the SOAR Program at the Transitions Center.
These students have grown, learned, and inspired us through every chapter of their educational journey. We are so proud of each of them and are excited to see what comes next. ❤️ #OurStory #Classof2025

The sun is out, the Wellness Committees summer safety tips are in !
Summer days invite more fun in the sun, increasing physical activity and boosting vitamin D. However, they also bring a higher UV index, meaning there is a greater risk of harm to the skin and eyes with prolonged exposure. This doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the warm rays, but minimizing direct sun will help you avoid painful burns and cumulative UV damage that can lead to more serious health concerns like skin cancer. By implementing a few mindful habits, you can enjoy the sunshine safely all season long!
Sun Safety Tips-
• Plan around peak hours: Avoid spending prolonged time in direct sun between 10 AM and 4 PM.
• Seek shade: Spend time outdoors under natural shade provided by trees or use an umbrella (pro tip: look for ones with UPF 50+).
• Don’t skip on sunscreen: Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher before spending time in the sun, then reapply every two hours.
• Protect your eyes: Wear sunglasses with 99 to 100% UVA and UVB protection to avoid burns and help prevent eye damage.
• Cover up: Wear tightly woven clothing with long sleeves or pants when possible.
• Top it off: Sport a wide-brimmed hat that covers your ears, face, and neck for an added layer of protection.
Small habits make a big difference. Summer safety starts with staying aware and making small, consistent choices to protect your skin, eyes, and long-term health.
Every breakthrough, no matter how big or small, is worth celebrating. 🥳 With open hearts and endless determination, our students are showing the world what’s possible—one day at a time. 💫 #LimitlessPotential #BreakingBarriersTogether
