Saginaw ISD work-based learning student Julian Morris had an amazing conversation with those who play vital roles in bus safety for National School Bus Safety Week. Karen Schaeding, a bus driver and a trainer of other drivers, gave some great insight into what she does. "It's all about making sure the drivers understand their vehicles are not like the others on the road, know the laws surrounding school buses, their routes, and getting the students where they need to be." In addition, she revealed her favorite part of her job was the kids she serves everyday. "I love interacting with the students who ride my bus every day." Julian also spent time with Harold Pignatelli, a mechanic who works on the buses, and saw his inspection process to ensure they're road-ready.
