The Saginaw ISD CTE team had the pleasure of presenting to some amazing 10th graders at Nouvel Catholic Central High School today, introducing them to the incredible opportunities available through career and technical education at the Saginaw Career Complex (SCC). The students were engaged as they explored how SCC can help them connect to their career passions while still in high school. All 10th graders in Saginaw County are invited to experience 10th Grade Days at SCC this January, and our CTE team visits every school district to ensure students are ready to explore their futures. #OurStory #ourctestory #CareerAwareness #NouvelCatholicCentralHighschool #SaginawISD

We're continuing to celebrate AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) Month! By modeling in everyday situations, we teach users where words are, what they mean, and how to combine them! For more information, please visit: https://www.sisd.cc/page/assistive-technology

AAC Everyday...All Day. By 18 months babies have heard 4380 hours of spoken language and we don't expect them to be fluent speakers yet. If AAC learners only see symbols modeled for communication twice weekly for 20-30 minutes, it will take 84 years for them to have the same exposer to aided language as an 18 month old has to spoken language.
