Saginaw ISD is proud to share that our very own DeMichael Ezell, who works security at Claytor Preschool, was honored with the 2024 Community Service Award by members of our local Kiwanis Club (Brian Jackson, Kelly Shay, Jim Sharon, and Deb Trombley). DeMichael was celebrated for being a great person who continually supports others and is a beacon of light to all! It is truly remarkable to be recognized for good deeds that are done as if no one is watching! #SaginawISD





Today is Manufacturing Day and to celebrate, Mr. Grady's Industrial Tech class at Birch Run High hosted guest speakers from Nexteer and Birch Machinery Company this morning! These awesome local employers took the time to chat with students about careers in manufacturing—from skilled trades to engineering. Love solving problems, building things, or working with cool tech? Manufacturing has something for everyone!

They also contributed to pre-conference panels, highlighting the vital partnership between Superintendents and communications professionals in shaping effective school messaging and strategies.
To top it off, Dr. Collier and Ms. Kuschinsky were honored to accept Apptegy’s ‘Thoughtfulness’ and ‘High Performance’ awards on behalf of Saginaw ISD. We’re grateful for our partnership with Apptegy, which has empowered our staff to share 3,300 stories over the past 21 months. Earlier this week, the Saginaw ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) team, led by Mr. Dennis Barlow, facilitated an exciting college fair at the Saginaw Career Complex, where over 50 college representatives from Michigan and beyond connected with more than 900 students! Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the CTE team and SCC staff, students had the opportunity to explore new career paths and gain valuable insights from admissions reps on how to achieve their goals. The feedback was phenomenal, with one rep sharing, “Best college fair I have ever been a part of,” and another stating, “I’m definitely coming back to this one.” Kudos to the CTE team for creating such an impactful experience!
