The novel is set in Saginaw, Michigan, and explores the rich history of our beautiful city, making it a compelling read. SOAR students in Mrs. Jakes and Mrs. Hawkins classes were inspired by Lonnie Johnson's story in the book titled, Whoosh! They invented toys and games using recycled materials. Kolb Elementary kindergarten students had a unique learning opportunity while attending the Hartley Outdoor Education Center. While here the students read “The Log Hotel” book and then explored nature to discover the trees, plants,insects, animals, and more found in the book.
