Special thanks to Dr. Grant, Saginaw Valley State University President, for stopping by the Saginaw Career Complex Entrepreneurship Academy at the SVSU Riverfront location in downtown Saginaw! He had the opportunity to address the students and give them several pieces of valuable advice. Students also had the opportunity also to ask him questions. We are so fortunate to have such a great partnership with SVSU! #SaginawISD

The Eastern Resource Center Team is excited to welcome Danya El-Amin, owner of ABC & Me, LLC, as a newly licensed Family Home provider in Saginaw County. With the help of a pre-licensure grant, Danya was able to fulfill her ambition of opening her own childcare. Our Quality Improvement Specialist, Rosanna Keller, supported Danya in the Quality Improvement process and emphasized the importance of quality in her program. Pre-Licensure and Start Up Grants are part of Caring for MI Future, a $100 million strategy to open 1,000 new or expanded childcare businesses by the end of 2024, and more information can be found at www.michigan.gov/cclb/caring-for-mi-future. For quality childcare options, visit www.greatstarttoquality.org or call 1-877-614-7328.

Congratulations to the Frankenmuth DECA team that had 36 students attend the state conference this past week! The team of Melody Compton (left) and Hannah Grimshaw (right) took medals in the Business Law and Ethics competition and will be competing at the International Career Development Conference later this spring. Additionally, the Frankenmuth team raised $1,400 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and achieved Thrive and Membership campaigns! We are so proud of our student leaders with extra kudos to Ryan Ford, Frankenmuth CTE Teacher and DECA advisor, for his hard work in preparing students. #SaginawISD #CTE

Our Healthy Families America and MI-APPP families had the opportunity to create a vision board outlining their individualized goals. Additionally, the Saginaw ISD's own Dr. Ericka Taylor, Ms. Takesha Montgomery, and author Mrs. Frances Shipman provided impactful testimonies to our participants. We'd like to thank Mrs. Diamond Dailey-Corley for bringing this idea to light and all of our speakers for their inspiration! #EnvisioningTheFuture
