Principal Nichols of Saginaw ISD’s Jerome STEM Campus is proud to introduce the county’s premier Early Childhood STEM teachers! This incredible group of educators is passionate about sparking curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning in our youngest students.

Our teachers are excited to bring hands-on, inquiry-based learning to life through our new STEM curriculum with a Green overlay, helping children build critical skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while also connecting to environmental awareness and sustainability.

At Jerome, we believe that early learning is the foundation of future success. With our dedicated educators, newly renovated learning spaces, and a vision focused on innovation, collaboration, and exploration, we are preparing the next generation of leaders.

Enrollment is still open for the 2025–26 school year! Families interested in joining our Jerome family can call 989.272.0900 for more information or to schedule a tour.

We cannot wait to see all the amazing things our teachers and students will accomplish together this year! #OurStory #SaginawISD #JeromeSTEMCampus #FutureReady #STEMEducation #EarlyLearning

Millet Learning Center secretary Adrienne Barnes would like to recognize Chelsea Korzecki, Julie Clauss, Jeremy Kaul, Linda Kapoor, Tim Kotewa, Tim Benzenberg, and Katy Edwards with an Orange Spot nomination. On just the second day of school, this team showed outstanding teamwork, communication, and patience while supporting a student in crisis. Thanks to their dedication and persistence, they were able to safely de-escalate the situation before it grew into a larger issue.

Collaboration among Saginaw County schools is not new, but today it takes on greater urgency. All 12 public school districts and four public school academies, serving more than 26,000 students, are standing together to issue a joint letter on the state education budget. Our leaders are united in saying clearly: the School Aid Budget must remain focused on students, ensuring every child, regardless of ZIP code, has the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.

Earlier this week, Julie Bash, Great Start to Quality Program Director, Joani Liesen, Family Child Care Network (FCCN) Specialist, and Bill Daniels co-owner of Healthy Beginnings Child Care had the amazing opportunity to connect with other FCCN hubs and networks from across the state, the Early Childhood Investment Corporation, and Mi-LEAP. The day was filled with inspiration from the powerful stories of home-based child care business owners whose businesses have been positively impacted by FCCNs, to rich learnings with the Erikson Institute on FCCN research and evaluation. Together, we celebrated the progress of Michigan’s FCCN initiative and explored the opportunities ahead. #FCCNStrongerTogether #FCCNSmallBusinessBigImpact

Looking back on the kickoff to June, when educators from across Michigan gathered at the Outside of The Classroom conference, hosted at the beautiful Hartley Outdoor Education Center. The day started with an inspiring keynote from Alexis Dahl, who reminded us of the magic that lives in curiosity and wonder. From there, featured speakers took learning outside—literally—leading sessions that focused on connection over content, collaboration over curriculum.
It was a day of fresh air, fresh ideas, and a powerful reminder that some of the best professional growth happens beyond four walls.
