Student Spotlight Louella Grablick 12th Grade Frankenmuth H.S. “Louella’s dedication and passion for dentistry have been evident throughout her 2-years as an intern at Frankenmuth Family Dental. From the moment she stepped into the office, she wholeheartedly embraced the learning experience. Her placement supervisors have continuously praised her for her strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and ability to adapt to new challenges. Her journey is a true testament to the power of work-based learning, and there is no doubt she will continue to thrive in the dental profession. We are incredibly proud of her growth and the passion she brings to her future career!” Riley Klein, Business & Career & Technical Education Teacher “ From a young age, around five or six dentistry has always been in the back of my mind. After hearing from friends about an internship opportunity, I thought it was a good idea to get a little taste. In my junior year, I interned for 1-hour of my day at Frankenmuth Family Dental. The internship then turned into a summer job and my dream job. I continued to work through the work-based learning program. I am so grateful to everyone at Frankenmuth FAMILY Dental. They opened their arms and welcomed me to their practice. I have been taught so much and continue to learn every day, all while being around my favorite people in my favorite place.”- Louelle Grablick, Senior at Frankenmuth H.S. Another CTE Alumni sharing their experience in career and technical education! My name is Brock Golden, and I am a proud graduate of the HVAC/R program at the Saginaw Career Complex (SCC). During my senior year of high school, I enrolled in the program with no prior experience in the field—honestly, I barely knew where to start. But thanks to the incredible resources and hands-on training at SCC, I quickly became confident in my skills. Throughout the year, I gained valuable knowledge and experience, earning my OSHA 10 certification and competing in the SkillsUSA competition at the local, regional, and state levels. After graduation, I put my training to work in the field, specializing in commercial HVAC service. Today, I am continuing my education at Ferris State University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in HVAC/R. In just a few months, I’ll be starting my career with Trane, a direct result of the education, skills, and industry connections I gained through my CTE program. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities SCC provided me, and I wholeheartedly support and advocate for CTE programs—they truly set students up for success.

Learning happens everywhere—even on the court. Sometimes, the best conversations start with a game of basketball. Movement has a way of opening hearts and minds, reminding us that growth isn’t limited to the classroom. 🏀💙 #LearningThroughPlay #SELinAction #MoreThanAGame
