Student Spotlight Azel Wingard 12th grader at SASA and SCC.  “Azel is an all-A student who attends the Saginaw Career Complex and the Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy. He also works at the hippest bakery in town, the Bread Gal. Azel participates in paid work-based learning for two (2) days at the Bread Gal. Along with his busy schedule of school and work, he also is on the SASA basketball team. Not only is Azel a leader in class and on the basketball court, he also competes in a CTSO (Career and Techincal Student Organization), SkillsUSA. Last year, he went to the States for Job Demo in which he presented how to write poetry. This year, he will be showing off his culinary skills at the regional level with hopes of making it to the States!”   Julie Ivan, SCC Culinary Arts Teacher. According to Azel, “I love culinary, my passion for cooking has been strong since 3rd grade. I used to cook with my granddad all the time, especially making our Thanksgiving turkey.!” - Azel Wingard.
