When two departments collide, only great things can happen! Chico Ramos, School to Work Specialist, and Jennifer Zimmerman Schaller, Vocational Consultant, both part of the Saginaw ISD Special Education program volunteered to help judge students at the Saginaw Career Complex who are competing in the job interview/employment application for SkillsUSA. Their expertise in working with students makes them excellent judges for students participating in Career and Technical Student Organizations. Yesterday, we had an inspiring and productive meeting with these dedicated educators who have been part of the SME PRIME (Partnership Response in Manufacturing Education) initiative for over six years! Led by our very own CTE Director, Kevin Summey, and Business Partnership Consultant, Ann Marie Batkoski, the team drilled down on best practices, student credentialing, and scholarships offered by SME and new updates from Edge Factor Together. The teachers shared successes, challenges, and innovative ideas for shaping the future of manufacturing education in our region.
