Another CTE Alumni sharing their experience in career and technical education! My name is Brock Golden, and I am a proud graduate of the HVAC/R program at the Saginaw Career Complex (SCC). During my senior year of high school, I enrolled in the program with no prior experience in the field—honestly, I barely knew where to start. But thanks to the incredible resources and hands-on training at SCC, I quickly became confident in my skills. Throughout the year, I gained valuable knowledge and experience, earning my OSHA 10 certification and competing in the SkillsUSA competition at the local, regional, and state levels. After graduation, I put my training to work in the field, specializing in commercial HVAC service. Today, I am continuing my education at Ferris State University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in HVAC/R. In just a few months, I’ll be starting my career with Trane, a direct result of the education, skills, and industry connections I gained through my CTE program. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities SCC provided me, and I wholeheartedly support and advocate for CTE programs—they truly set students up for success.

It was a great day of learning last week as Transitions Center Assistant Principal /Transition Coordinator Mitch Wheatcraft held the second Tri-County Teacher Meeting along with Transition Coordinators Jenille Kent (Bay Arenac) and Jennifer Coston (Midland). This collaboration brings together middle and high school special education teachers along with outside community agencies to discuss resources, curriculum, and topics to support teachers in all three counties. #SaginawISD

Learning happens everywhere—even on the court. Sometimes, the best conversations start with a game of basketball. Movement has a way of opening hearts and minds, reminding us that growth isn’t limited to the classroom. 🏀💙 #LearningThroughPlay #SELinAction #MoreThanAGame
