#ANNOUNCMENT Saginaw ISD is excited to announce that we have just participated in initial meetings with the 2023-24 recipients of the State Personnel Development Grant (SPDG). From all of the applications submitted for the opportunity, three districts from Saginaw County will be a part of this amazing work – Francis Reh Academy, Saginaw Preparatory Academy, and Merrill Community Schools. The Michigan Department of Education, in partnership with the Michigan Multi-Tiered System of Supports Technical Assistance Center, awarded the federally-funded MTSS grant opportunity. The focus of this opportunity is to implement an integrated literacy and social, emotional, and behavioral framework in the elementary grades. The State Personnel Development Grant was intentionally written to complement Michigan’s State Systemic Improvement Plan (SSIP). The SSIP is a comprehensive plan to scale up an evidence-based practice to improve student results. The SPDG will provide local teams with oversight professional learning, collect data, and implementation support which are consistent with what is in our state’s SSIP. Congratulations to all three districts. Saginaw ISD is thrilled to be a partner with you as you enter this work. #SaginawISD
