Today students from throughout Saginaw County participated in Military Camp that was provided by Michigan Army National Guard Recruiting. The students spent the day going through hands-on experiences where they learned basic tactical training, medical triage, how to use night vision goggles (night operation devices), riding inside military vehicles, and the importance of field equipment such as scopes, binoculars, radar systems, and drones. At the end of the day, the students participated in an obstacle course and listened to a presentation about the opportunities available to them after high school. Each student was excited to receive some swag courtesy of the Army National Guard! Thank you to Sergeant Barnes and Mr. Barlow for making today a great day for kids!

Greetings to all! Although the school year has ended for the students at the Saginaw County Juvenile Detention Center School, I wholehearted know they enjoyed their End of Year Celebration. For privacy reasons, we can not share the smiling faces of the students here. However, they smiled until their cheeks were sore. The culminating moment of the day was when a student stated with surprise, "Man oh man. . . I forgot where we were." My hope is that they always remember the moment plus enjoy many more. Enjoy these great shots from the day.
